Dr. Mathys is the Director of the Colorado Academy of Excellence in Dentistry (CAeD). Dr. Gander is a member of the club’s Advisory Board of Specialists. The CAeD is part of an international network of dental study clubs, the Seattle Study Club. For more information on the network please visit www.seattlestudyclub.com. The club meets monthly during the academic year for a variety of programs. The ultimate goal of the club is to develop a group of quality minded dentists who want to learn more about high quality collaborative oral care.
Decades ago, dentists did most procedures themselves. That was because dentistry was relatively simple. Nowadays, as in medicine, generalists and specialists collaborate on increasingly complex cases to obtain the best possible result for the patient. This is driven by the many treatment options available to dentists, as well as the higher demands set by patients. Because of the Fauchard’s Center emphasis on collaborative care to provide better patient care, founding and managing a Seattle Study Club affiliate was a logical choice.
Membership to the study club is by invitation only. Members devote a significant amount of time and other resources to the club. Your dentist being a member of the Colorado Academy of Excellence in Dentistry is a clear illustration that he or she wants to be the best dentist they can possibly be.
